Ohio State Composting with Price Farm Organics

Tom Price from Price Farm Organics handles the compost from the Ohio State football games.  I had the opportunity to visit the composting facility and I want to share the experience.  In brief, the Sodexo team collects the food and fiber waste from the kitchens, concessions and suite areas at the stadium.  The Football Athletics team (Don, Smitty, Pete and company) along with Corey Hawkey, the OSU Sustainability Coordinator; capture the compost from the concourses.  All of this is delivered to Price Farm where it is sorted, contamination is removed and then it is mixed with Columbus Zoo poop and other carbon to begin the break down process into soil.
